Hi! I really don’t think that conversation starting at 16:28 is about Darwin.
“What kind of horse can win the Derby?” (TL Note: the horse race type, as in Kentucky Derby or Epsom Derby, not the soccer game type as in Manchester Derby or North London Derby)
“Wouldn’t that be the strongest horse?”
“You’re not wrong, but that’s not the answer I was looking for.”
“Then, what?”
“A horse that runs in the Derby, wins.”
“Isn’t that obvious?”
“But a horse that doesn’t run in the Derby, has no chance to win.”
Then bla bla, elections, etc.

How does Charles Darwin fit into this context? Or some different Darwin that you’re talking about?
Jul 13, 2012 @ 12:55:30
Is there a V2, or are the .mkv and .avi using different subs? In the XviD version I downloaded, the conversation at 16:28 mentions Darwin.
Jul 13, 2012 @ 14:10:09
And to clarify, it’s the subtitles that mention Darwin. And I think the actual dialogue is about the Derby, not Darwin. My first comment is my translation of the anime dialogue.

Will have go- clear this for you. I’ve not watched this ep myself yet so it will be bad of me to comment on what you think is correct and what we think. :)
Thanks

you’re right.
I wonder why nobody noticed…maybe because I managed to make it sound just logical.
ダービー “daabii” is what she said. “derby”
ダーウイン “daauin” is what i understood.
the difference in the words itself is big, of course, but the context doesn’t really change.
anyways. my bad.
