Requirements: enjoy working with people like us, good internet, finishes something “in a timely manner” (quotation from our head editor Aistad alias Lovestud), and also important: TIME, which some people of our group lack recently.

You say you aren’t recruiting editors, but you really should be. The subs for episode 3 of Asobi ni Iko Yo were almost painful to read. When the character on screen says in Engrish “security police” and your translator makes that “security” instead and then the next character says “SP”, obviously referring to the words “security police” that the other character just said and they also translate that as “security”, then an editor is not doing their job.
I don’t want to just be critical. I enjoy the shows you are doing and generally don’t mind errors like these, but this particular episode had so many bad translations and grammatical errors that should have been caught in editing that I had to say something.
Thanks for the work you do that enables so many to enjoy these shows. It is just the writer in me that cringes at sub standard editing.

As one of the two editors currently working on our projects, I’d like to apologize to you. I like to think we do a fairly good job, but as you can tell that’s not always the case.
With specific regards to Asobi, it is a joint project, SubDesu provides the TL and Ayako takes care of the rest, including the editing and from their it usually proceeds to the encoding which they also handle neither me nor Aistad (the other editor) ever see the script. While that doesn’t excuse the mistakes made in the episode I hope it helps to explain why I think that one series isn’t indicative of our subs and editing as a whole.
I will however make sure the issue is raised with Ayako, but I regret to say that I have to stop short of making any guarantees that there will be an improvement given that the problem fundamentally doesn’t lie with us, but with the workflow over at Ayako and I don’t want to, nor am I in a position to speak for them, but you can rest assured that we at least aren’t sitting idly by.
As a closing note, all of us take a great pride in what we produce and we welcome feedback from the community. If any of you aren’t happy with our subs feel free to leave a comment and you can rest assured that one of us will get back to you and if applicable make changes to assure that it won’t happen again.
