Before you complain. Grammar (either in english or even french) isn’t my cup of tea. In fact, I know the rules, but, my eyes can’t see them, even if I watch the subtitles 3 or 4 times.
That’s a weakness that has to be improved.
But, enjoy them anyway.

Psh its fine! If its slight errors, it doesn’t even phase me. I normally just read it how it should be read without even realizing there was an error 9 times out of 10.

I watched the first two episodes of this show censored and it was pretty well mangled. This version you guys use? Extremely bearable.
And so are a few errors. The thing about those though is that they’re harder to fix later if they really do bother you. What makes a proofreader useful isn’t always that they have better grammar or spelling, just that they don’t know what it *should* say, so they only see what it does. It seems silly, but a trick I use when I don’t have a fresh set of eyes available is to read things aloud the final time through. Something about that extra step allows me to process ‘em a little better.
Anyway, thanks for the translation, guys.

Thanks for the proofing trick! But, the fact that proofreaders doesn’t know, as you say, what’s it’s said in japanese does bother me, since, it’s denaturing the original meaning. I’ve worked with many proofreaders who thinks of themselves a TLer and makes TL errors by totally denaturing the original meaning, turning the sentence into a completely different one. Sorry if I offend you, but, proofreaders should stay at “mispelling and grammar mistakes” or the TL will suffer.
I work with a proofreader in my french team, I’ve been clear on that, grammar and mispelling do not rephrase anything, or, you have chances to turn a right TL into a wrong one. Give me advices on what you think should be revised, I’ll take it in consideration according on the true meaning.

@Kanako_chan I know precisely what you mean about the trouble with things getting lost in translation. I’ve been on both sides of the argument, noting how something just wouldn’t be said that way in English on the one hand, or being annoyed that not every aspect of the Japanese was represented on the other. For instance, one of my idiosyncrasies is not wanting to exclude the honorifics for names. I don’t like to change what characters actually call each other, and feel certain that those who still don’t know what ‘san’ and ‘chan’ represent can figure it out eventually. These things have been known to cause tension. Hopefully if you just lay out what you want from your proofreaders ahead of time like you did here, you won’t get too much grief for your effort. Greetings, and thanks.
I totally agree with the honorifics, but, I took the project in the “middle” of it. Even if I TLchecked the firsts episodes, the honorifics were removed from the start, I had, for consistency, to keep it that way.
Although, for my part, I do not remove them, for the exactly the same reason you gave.
I also totally agree on the way to adapt Japanese into English, and the way to turn sentences, however, I believe in the fact that, even in those cases, it’s totally possible to keep the cultural fact, without massacring the storyline because a Japanese cultural fact doesn’t exist in American culture. I believe, as a translator, that our work is to bring a culture to an other, not to mask, transform, a culture into an other because the first one is different, or the fact doesn’t exist in occident.
Those things might exist in the industry because of making money problem, and, selling DVD and manga. As in : “If I want to sell, I must please my clients, with someone else story”. That was a nice subject on IRC once. I have anyway, a passion for japan and its culture, not for money, that’s all the difference, I think.
As, I’m fansubbing, I do my best, not for the fans to appreciate my work, but, to be the more faithful possible to the original story, even if it can be weird for occidental culture because a japanese culture fact doesn’t exist in the occidental one. I believe that, our task, as translators, isn’t to make profit, nor being famous, nor even to put ahead ouself or our work, but, the storyline, the other cultures, as a link between people and their cultures.
I strongly believe, that, as a translator, and, a fansubber, my task is to bring a culture to an other, without any idea of profit to corrupt it, and, even with the mistakes I can make, I do my best for that.

I noticed this pattern some time ago, I don’t know the tehnical things but just found that weird xD Like I didn’t have no proof till now, I mean you took some time with the subbing of this eps, the raws were available, you post the subbed eps and on the same day another group does the exact thing, hmmm… >_< am I the only one that finds this weird?

What ever happened to “Can we all just get along”? :-p It seems to me it would be better to not raise any hell with another group. It would seems to me anyways that sure you want the attention however too much can be a bad thing. I am sure others on here have several fan sub groups that they follow. It’s not like any one fan sub group can do all of your fav/current shows.
Anyways I for one am thankful for each fan sub group that I follow each for there own separate ways, whether it be the quality of the subs (which I only know so much in japanese to begin with) or whether it be certain shows that they sub. As of late I went from a diehard following of 4 groups up to 9 now for various reasons.
Now if I can find a group that is doind a dvd or bluray rip/sub of The Sacred Blacksmith I would be good ( i prefer ecchis more for the comedic aspect than any nudity) I love the ackward moments the most. But as I believe most would agree each show they watch may be great but it’s far better uncensored and in a high quality capacity whether it’s dvd quality or Hi-Def.

If you’re talking about this, the priest is “surprised” to see Professor Otori to have come in person up until this school, where the Athos organisation is, and find it a little bold.
Ironic of course.
If you watch episode 10, you’ll understand that Otori has come there because he found a note in a book which lead him there. If you have a brain, you can deduce that MAYBE, this note may have been put there by the priest for this guy to come, but anonymously.
I know seikon is pron, but seikon has also a storyline, it’s a special training with Seikon:
-You learn chemistry;
-You train your fapping;
-You also train your brain since you need to think about a true storyline which is there…. Too.
Starting now, since there are a lot of fans, I won’t answer to any question which are, well… Obvious if you use your brain when watching and not only fapping.
Let’s joke to end this “pseudo-troll”, I’ve heard, for man, it’s impossible to fap and use the brain in the meantime : Either the blood is in the brain, either, it’s “downstairs”. Haha!
